October 6: All Things iTunes with Adam Engst
Sep 24th
Lucky us! TidBITS and Take Control eBooks publisher Adam Engst returns for his annual MUG ONE presentation on Wednesday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Golisano Hall, Room 103 on the Hartwick College campus in Oneonta, NY.
Adam’s topic, as requested at our September meeting, is All Things iTunes (and whatever questions you wish to lob his way). His program description:
“From its humble roots in an MP3 program called SoundJam, Apple’s iTunes has grown to be a surprisingly deep media management program and player that also serves as a digital hub for Macs, iPods, and iOS devices.
With power comes complexity, though and figuring out how to do everything you want in iTunes can require some effort. In this MUG ONE talk, Adam Engst will share his favorite iTunes tips and tricks, and will gamely attempt to answer any iTunes-related question you throw at him. (And if you have Mac or iOS questions that aren’t related to iTunes, he’ll field those as well after all the iTunes questions have been answered.) As always, Adam will bring a Take Control Library CD to raffle off, including the recently published “Take Control of iTunes 10: The FAQ.”
The meeting will begin with a question and answer session and end with a door prize drawing for current members and refreshments for all. The MUG ONE lending library will be available for members.
All MUG ONE meetings are free of charge and everyone is welcome. For more information, email us at info@mugone.com

September 8 Meeting: iGoogle, Skype and the Latest from Apple
Aug 25th

Join us on Wednesday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Golisano Hall, Room 103 on the Hartwick College campus in Oneonta, NY for the first fall semester meeting of MUG ONE, the Macintosh User Group of Oneonta, NY.
MUG ONE president Elsa Travisano will start the meeting with the latest from Apple, including Safari 5 and the new Magic Trackpad. Then vice president Brian Foley will demo Skype and iGoogle.
Skype is an easy to use VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) application that lets you make nation-wide and international calls for free. Brian will give the skinny on how to get started making free calls in no time.
Brian will also cover using iGoogle as your browser’s home page. Whether you use Safari, Firefox or any other browser, iGoogle is a great way to set up the things you need to get to first every time you open your browser – your favorite websites, the weather, time, your finances, notes and reminders, Facebook or your favorite goofy games, quotations or other applications of the day. iGoogle may soon become your favorite resource. Of course it’s free, and Brian will show how easy it is to set up and play with.
As always, the meeting will begin with a question and answer session and end with a door prize drawing for current members and refreshments for all.
The MUG ONE lending library will be available for members. Please remember to return all materials that may have been borrowed over the summer.
Meetings are free of charge and everyone is welcome. For more information, email us at info@mugone.com
