December 14 – Holiday Meeting and Party!


Join us on Thursday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. in 103 Golisano Hall on the Hartwick College campus in Oneonta, NY for the December meeting of MUG ONE, the Macintosh User Group of Oneonta, NY.

It’s MUG ONE’s annual holiday meeting and party! We’ll have demonstrations of tech-related gift ideas to inspire your holiday lists – or your own wish list.

After the presentations and door prizes, we’ll socialize and enjoy holiday goodies.

October 12 – Adam and Tonya Engst on iOS 11 and High Sierra (Mac OS 10.13)

Join us on Thursday, October 12 at 7:30 p.m. in 103 Golisano Hall on the Hartwick College campus for the October meeting of MUG ONE, the Macintosh User Group of Oneonta, NY.

Tech luminaries and longtime MUG ONE friends Adam and Tonya Engst of TidBITS and the TidBITS Content Network will be returning to MUG ONE on October 12th to talk about what’s new in macOS 10.13 High Sierra (not that much that users see!) and iOS 11. They’ll be happy to answer any and all questions you have about Apple’s new operating systems (including watchOS 4 and tvOS 11), along with the new hardware that has either shipped or is still coming this fall. This promises to be an enjoyable and information-packed meeting!

MUG ONE president Elsa Travisano will take us on a tour of the new Apple products to be revealed at Apple’s press event scheduled for September 12.

Thursday, May 18 – Apple’s Dave Marra!

Apple Senior Systems Engineer Dave Marra will make his 15th annual visit to MUG ONE on Thursday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. in 103 Golisano Hall on the Hartwick College campus in Oneonta, NY.

Dave will bring us up to speed on recent macOS Sierra and iOS 10.3 updates, iCloud, updates to the iWork apps, and more. To add to the fun, Dave will introduce Clips, Apple’s brand new iOS video app.

Dave has conducted thousands of technology presentations, keynote addresses and workshops for schools, Mac and PC user groups, businesses and other professional organizations across the United States and Canada. Certified as both an Apple Certified Technical Coordinator and an Apple Certified Systems Administrator, his specialty areas include digital multimedia, internet technologies, accessibility and Mac/PC integration.

Huntington Memorial Library’s Adult Services Librarian Sarah Livingston will give us an overview of the exciting new services being added at Oneonta’s public library this year including photography equipment and software, 3D printing services and design software, Kindle tablets and a wide variety of STEAM-related gadgets for both kids and adults.

MUG ONE program co-chair Keith Robisch will show health and fitness apps he uses with the newly updated Apple Watch.
